Political Structure
The Anasazi had a very loose political structure. It was split into tribes and administered by older tribe leaders called Headmen. Each tribe would pick a Headman that would speak for them at tribal or village assemblies. Tribal leaders created a key location for trade that was called the Chaco Canyon. Trading with other clans was the main source for the Anasazi to get the items they needed to survive in their Southwest home.
